Building on last week's foundation about saving money, today's message shares a story of what can happen to a people who are desperate and have debt (and no savings) when crisis strikes. Debt is not a crime or a sin; it is totally permissible. However, it does make the borrower a "slave to the lender." On the other hand, those who have savings when other people are in need of borrowing have a natural advantage. They can even prosper in times of crisis. This story (and this message) help explain how. If we believe that harder times may soon be upon us, then we should heed the warning of Scripture, and commit ourselves to aggressively eliminating debt and saving money.
