Today, we refine our study of authority on Divine Authority: God's ultimate authority, how God shares authority with Jesus Christ, and then how Jesus shares His authority with us, His church. We learn that all authority must ultimately be traced back to the "author," who has ownership, and with that ownership, the right to decide what happens to what is owned. And then author-ity is dispensed and bestowed to others. Understanding spiritual authority is necessary to fully know how we as Christians ought to relate to earthly authority.
