Phil. 4:5-7; 1 Thess. 5:16-18; Mt. 6:5-7; Acts 4:13

Married couples have two distinct forms of communicating with one another: casually and intimately. Both forms are (or should be) rooted in love, and both should be regular. But one is for public, and one is just for a private setting. Pastor Trevor uses the picture of marriage to identify two types of prayer – casual and intimate – both which should be present and frequent in the Christian life, but not to be interchanged. This message also briefly addresses the question of speaking in tongues, since the Bible identifies it as a prayer language.
